CALLING all artists, professional and amateur – Grays Court, in Chapter House Street, is to hold an autumn art festival to celebrate York in all its glory.
“We’re inviting 15 artists to create one large canvas each that epitomises York and what it means to live here,” says events manager Katharine Fitzpatrick.
To apply to be one of the chosen 15, send samples of your work by email, with a short biography, to enquiries@grayscourtyork.com for the attention of Katharine.
“This is a rare opportunity to exhibit in the beautiful 11th century Grays Court in the shadow of the Minster,” she says. “The finalists will be selected at the end of July, giving you plenty of time to perfect your canvas.”
The exhibition will run from September 3 to November 30 and will be launched with an evening of piano music, Prosecco and canapés in the Jacobean Long Gallery.
