A SHOWCASE of stitchwork featuring historical, traditional and contemporary techniques is being held in York this weekend.
The three-day Celebrate With Stitch exhibition opened at The Guildhall in yesterday and displays the work of members of the City of York branch of the Embroiderers Guild.
It is open from 10am to 5pm today, and from 10am to 4pm tomorrow. Admission costs £3.
Among the highlights is a display of work related to the city of York and a display of bursary students’ work. A raffle for the quilt, pictured above, will raise funds for a bursary fund which supports textile and design students in North Yorkshire.
There will also be a demonstration of embroidery techniques.
