THE York branch of Amnesty International is teaming up with York’s City Screen cinema for a special screening at 6pm this evening of the Chilean, Oscar-nominated film No.
The film is based on the real-life events surrounding the Chilean 1988 referendum for democracy, which brought an end to the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet.
An Amnesty stall will detail the organisation’s campaigns against Pinochet’s human rights abuses during the time leading up to the referendum.
