A York-based film director is calling on the public to help raise funds for an independent television pilot filmed in the area.
James Anderson, who is studying film and television production at York St John University and is screenwriter and director, is hoping to raise an additional £1,250 to bring The Coop to the screen.
Production on pilot has recently started shooting at Allerthorpe Wood and follows a group of humans attempting to overthrow a totalitarian government of bioengineered humanoids.
He said: “Our previous films, which have all been produced on small to nothing budgets, have been screened at festivals worldwide, including BAFTA, Plus Camerimage, Creative Arts and the Tampa Bay International Film Festival, among many others.
"We saw a tremendous amount of success through our previous campaign for The Death of Jack Hamilton, raising an impressive £4,000 budget for the film, which allowed us access to amazing high-quality camera and lighting equipment, professional cast and amazing locations.
“This has encouraged us to pursue a similar campaign for The Coop”.
Donations are currently near £700.
