THE Picturehouses Docs strand at City Screen, York, welcomes two documentary films in two nights: Bhutto on Monday and Shed Your Tears And Walk Away on Tuesday, both starting at 6.15pm.
Jessica A Henandez and Johnny O’Hara’s Bhutto (certificate TBC) chronicles the life of one of the most complex and fascinating figures of our time, Benazir Bhutto. Through her assassination, she transcends politics, leaving a legacy of simmering controversy and undeniable courage that will long be debated.
Jez Lewis’s Shed Your Tears And Walk Away (12A) explores the emotive subject of “Broken Britain” and the impact of addiction, unemployment and homelessness on small-town communities in a deeply personal piece of film-making.
