MUSICAL theatre leading man Michael Ball will play York Barbican on his spring tour on Tuesday, April 23.
The tour follows on from the January launch of his new Sunday evening show on BBC Radio 2 and this month’s release of his latest album, Both Sides Now.
The record will feature Ball’s biggest hits from his recording and stage careers, including tracks written by Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Tim Rice.
Ball has 25 years’ experience of playing award-winning lead roles in the West End and now combines his musical theatre career on the West End and Broadway stage with recording albums; performing concerts at home and abroad in Australia, the United States and the Far East; and broadcasting on radio and television.
Among his many West End credits are Marius in Les Miserables; Raoul in The Phantom Of The Opera; Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang; and Sweeney Todd in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street.
His television shows have included An Evening With Michael Ball and The Michael Ball Show and he has hosted Ball Over Broadway, Michael Ball’s Sunday Brunch and last year’s six-part series, Songwriting Partnerships, on BBC Radio 2.
Tickets for April 23 cost £37.50 on 0844 854 2757 or online at yorkbarbican.co.uk
