Rochdale soul singer Lisa Stansfield will play the Grand Opera House on June 10.
After returning to the concert stage with three sold-out shows in London and Manchester last year, 46-year-old Stansfield has announced a series of 11 European dates for May and June, opening in Paris. York will be her only Yorkshire date; tickets go on sale tomorrow at £37.50 and £27.50 on 0844 871 3024 or 0844 811 0051 or atgtickets.com/york
The Brit Award-winning singer boasts close on 20 million record sales and is best known for such hits as the 1989 chart-topper All Around The World and People Hold On with Coldcut.
Stansfield has been working on a seventh studio album that is now nearing completion, and her York gig will combine her 1980s and 1990s hits with new material.
She has also completed the filming for Northern Soul: The Movie, Elaine Constantine’s feature film based around the soul music phenomenon.
