HEATHER Small, Paul Heard and Shovell will be re-uniting for M People’s first full-scale tour in eight years to mark the 20th anniversary of their Elegant Slumming album.
Tickets have gone on sale at £25 to £55 for their York Barbican show on Tuesday, October 22, one of 14 dates this autumn.
M People emerged from Manchester’s club scene in the early 1990s, going on to sell more than 11 million records with a line-up comprising Small, Heard, Shovell and founder Mike Pickering.
They notched ten Top Ten hits between 1993 and 1998, among them One Night In Heaven, Moving On Up, Search For The Hero and Just For You.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back on the road with the guys again,” says Heather, who last toured with M People on their Ultimate Collection arena tour in 2005. “It’s been eight years since we last toured together and we always have such fun, you can expect a big party on that stage.”
Tickets for the York leg of their 20th Anniversary Greatest Hits tour can be booked on 0844 854 2757, online at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the Barbican box office, open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm.
