TICKETS go on sale at 9am tomorrow for the only Yorkshire date of Ed Sheeran’s first headline tour since Autumn 2012.

Sheeran’s October gig in Leeds will be a chance to hear songs from his as yet untitled second album, set for release on February 17.

The flame-haired singer-songwriter, 22, has lined up 11 autumn shows.

“I can’t wait to tour this new record; it’s been a long time coming,” says Sheeran. “Looking forward to touring the UK and Ireland once again!’’

Sheeran had a meteoric rise in 2011, when his debut album, +, entered the British charts at number one with the highest ever opening-week sales for a debutant male solo artist. It has since been certified platinum six times over, while his single The A-Team went double platinum in the United States, where he received a Grammy nomination for Song Of The Year.

His ever-growing Stateside fan base has resulted in back-to-back, sold-out headlining tours of North America.

Tickets for October 11 cost £32.50 upwards on 0844 248 1585 or at firstdirectarena.com, or they can be bought in person from the Trinity Leeds Customer Service Lounge box office, open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 8pm, and on Sundays from 11am to 5pm.
