THE Satellite Tour, a new live showcase for up-and-coming artists, is rocketing into The Duchess in York on February 10.
Pioneering a touring circuit of smaller cities and towns, the tour will offer the chance to see breaking acts.
Taking part will be Eliza And The Bear, from Capitol Records, Sons & Lovers, from Polydor Records, and Fred Page, from Virgin/EMI Records.
Eliza And The Bear are fresh off the Paramore arena tour and have attracted radio play from BBC Radio 1; Sons & Lovers have just supported The Naked And Famous and have released Ghosts as a free download; singer-songwriter Fred Page is making his name playing independent nights in London.
Dean Shakes-peare, events manager at The Duchess, says: “It’s great to be involved in such an initiative for new and emerging bands and acts. As a promoter over the past 12 years, booking artists at this level is an everyday occurrence of the job, but to have the knowledge and marketing support of Capitol Records, Polydor Records and Virgin/EMI makes a whole world of difference.
“By joining forces for the Satellite Tour, we’re able to bring three of the UK’s hotly tipped artists to the Duchess for a mere £4.”
