Only two questions for…Birkenhead singer-songwriter Miles Kane, who will play York Barbican on March 19
What are your recording plans for 2014, Miles?
”I’m writing material at the moment and I’m trying to get as many tunes and ideas down as possible, and ideally I’d like to get some new music out for the summer, maybe a single and an EP. Even if the next album is still two years after the latest one, in that time I’d like to put out something for sure.
“I did that after the first album, when First Of My Kind was a good bridge between records.”
Is there a chance you might work again with Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner, your partner in The Last Shadow Puppets?
“Well, after we’ve written our feature film! It’ll be like X-Men but set in the Sixties. Maybe the soundtrack for that film could be the next TLSP release…but no, we’re just riding the waves at the moment and seeing where it goes. He’s my bro and I’m loving what I’m doing now – and I’m happy with that.”
Tickets for the only Yorkshire concert of Miles Kane's 15-date March and April itinerary are on sale on 0844 854 2757, at yorkbarbican.co.uk or in person from the box office, open Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm.
