TEESSIDE troubadour Vin Garbutt has been gigging for more than 40 years, playing York on myriad occasions.
The elder statesman of the folk scene plays the National Centre for Early Music, York, on Tuesday in a 7.30pm concert co-promoted by the Black Swan Folk Club.
Garbutt is noted for his warm, humane, inspired and honest songs that combine the folk tradition with up-to-the-minute social comment and thoughtful observations on life’s ups and downs. His spoken introductions are the stuff of legend too.
