SINEAD O’Kelly, voice, Sam Corkin, saxophone, and Timothy End, piano, celebrate the music of the late Richard Rodney Bennett in a York Late Music cabaret concert at the Unitarian Chapel, St Saviourgate, York, on Saturday.
The 7.30pm programme includes Bennett’s Three Piece Suite for Alto Saxophone; new works by David Lancaster, Emily Rowan and Late Music administrator Steve Crowther; Bennett’s arrangement of Three Stephen Sondheim Waltzes; Benjamin Britten’s Cabaret Songs and Five Songs from The Gershwin Songbook.
The concert concludes with Bennett’s The History Of The Dansant and is preceded by a 6.45pm talk by David Lancaster.
