TERRY Lightfoot & His Jazzmen recall The Special Magic Of Louis Armstrong at Pocklington Arts Centre on Sunday at 8pm.
Legendary bandleader Lightfoot is one of the few British musicians to have played alongside Louis Armstrong, and in his tribute he presents such songs as Hello Dolly, Dippermouth Blues, Muskrat Ramble, and What A Wonderful World.
In 1955, Lightfoot played alongside Armstrong at a welcoming dinner at a Soho restaurant, and ten years later, the Terry Lightfoot Band was invited to share the bill with the Armstrong All-Stars on the Hello Dolly tour of Britain.
Through the years, the likes of Kenny Ball, Freddy Randall, Roy Williams, Dickie Hawdon and Ginger Baker have passed through Lightfoot's ranks.
Tickets cost £18 on 01759 301547.
