RICHARD Digance, comedy songwriter, guitarist and storyteller, performs songs, rhymes and tales at Pocklington Arts Centre on Wednesday at 8pm.
Beginning his career as a BBC comedy writer, Digance was one of the premier folk entertainers of the Seventies, alongside Billy Connolly and Jasper Carrott, and his guitar duets with Queen's Brian May, Status Quo and The Moody Blues were a feature of evening television viewing in the 1980s and '90s.
In 2003, he received the Gold Badge Award from the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.
Digance, who supported Steve Martin in the United States and Robin Williams at the London Palladium, is included in the Virgin Anthology of Songwriters for his contribution to British comedy songwriting and contributes regularly to Channel 4's Countdown.
His one-man shows continue to take him around the world, latterly to the Dubai Comedy Festival.
Tickets cost £14.50 on 01759 301547.
