YOU may have not heard of singer/songwriter Ben Taylor, but you will recognise his parents.
The son of James Taylor and Carly Simon, Ben has loved music from day one, absorbing his parents' work and writing his own.
"They've always influenced me equally in very different ways, " he said. "I learned the guitar by teaching myself how to play my dad's sound. He's the one who really, truly taught me about music, but when I started writing songs my mom helped me in a different way."
As a youngster, Ben would tour with his father, watching him lock himself away to write his material.
Now a star in his own right, Ben is embarking on his first headline UK tour, The Time Is Now, which follows the success of his album, Another Run Around The Sun.
Ben is influenced by artists such as Paul McCartney, Donovan and Cat Stevens, but is the first to admit his lineage attracts attention.
Not that he is not complaining.
"The main thing connections like that does is actually very positive, " he says. "It turns people's heads and gets you attention, but you really need to be prepared with something worth listening to. Right now, I feel ready."
