YORK singer-songwriter Chris Helme performs "a very intimate show in the extraordinary surroundings" of Nunnington’s Oak Hall, where the natural acoustics will so suit his music-making tomorrow night.
Now 43, Helme first rose to prominence as the frontman of John Squire’s post-Stone Roses band The Seahorses and released his most recent solo album, The Rookery, in August 2012. Tomorrow's set will span his career.
Nunnington Hall will be fully decorated for Christmas, giving the concert a special atmosphere, much to the delight of James Etherington, the hall's visitor experience manager.
“We’re very excited that Chris will be continuing the tradition of stunning musical events with the National Trust, here at Nunnington Hall. The intimate setting of the oak-panelled hall will be the perfect accompaniment to Chris’s soulful and acoustic melodies. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience a live performance, in an historic venue, from one of Yorkshire’s most talented singer-songwriters.”
Tickets cost £12 on 01439 748283 or by emailing nunningtonhall@nationaltrust.org.uk. Booking is essential and doors open at 7.15pm for the 8pm start.
