ELVIS Costello will play a solo show in Harrogate next June, just as he did all of 30 years ago.
On that occasion in 1984, the London-born singer, songwriter and presenter, performed at the Royal Hall.
Next year, 60-year-old Costello will bring his Detour solo show to Harrogate International Centre on June 6 a 21-date tour in the wake of this year's Costello concerts at l‘Olympia, Paris, and the Bela Bartok National Concert Hall in Budapest, as well as his Carnegie Hall solo debut in New York.
In July, Elvis performed the re-opening concert at Brangwyn Hall, Swansea, headlined at Kew Gardens in London and played an intimate show at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea before touring the capital cities and small towns of Europe for five weeks in the autumn.
Costello last played a North Yorkshire gig with his band The Imposters at York Barbican in June 2013. Tickets for the only Yorkshire date on next May and June's Elvis Costello Detour travls go on sale today on 01423 502116 or at harrogatetheatre.co.uk
