THE Beethoven Story is the theme of the lunchtime concert at St Helen's Church, St Helen's Square, York, on April 30 at 1pm.
Phillip Mindenhall is the narrator and BBC Radio 3 pianist Vincent Billington will play the Moonlight Sonata, the Pathetique, Fur Elise and much more.
"This concert presents the amazing life story and sensational music of this wonderful composer, " says publicist Maria Billington.
"Beethoven was a most caring person, and it is a miracle the way he overcame total deafness to compose most of his greatest works. He also fought many court cases in order to win custody of his ungrateful nephew, Karl."
Admission: £5, concessions £3.50.
