TIM Booth, the Clifford-born singer, is on the comeback trail with James, in the six-piece lineup from their Laid era.
Playing together for the first time since December 2001, the reformed Manchester band took to the road on Wednesday at Carlisle for a tour that includes Newcastle Academy on Monday and Manchester MEN on the closing night, next Saturday.
The tour precedes the April 30 release of James's new compilation, Fresh As A Daisy - The Singles, a double disc that includes two new recordings, Chameleon and Who Are You? , the new single out on May 15.
