THE Deep Blues Club, in York, starts the New Year on Tuesday evening with two acts from northern England, Paul Lamb and The Kingsnakes and Neil Dalton and The Blue Aces.
Soulful blues harmonica exponent Lamb has been inducted into the British Blues Awards Hall of Fame, alongside Peter Green, John Mayall and Alexis Korner.
Dalton followed in the footsteps of Brownie McGhee at the same time as Lamb, when he was 17.
Rooted in country and delta blues, he plays both acoustic guitar and the Chicago Blues on electric guitar the way it was heard in the 1950s.
On Tuesday, doors open at the Post Office, Marygate, York, at 8pm, when entry is £9, CIU and concessions £8.
