BERNARD WRIGLEY has agreed to play an extra show at the Black Swan Folk Club, Peasholme Green, York, after more than 30 names were placed on the seat reservation list fully ten days before his first gig on January 31.
"I was regretting my mistake in not putting tickets on sale beforehand, " says club organiser Roland Walls. "So I discussed it with Bernard and he will now do Sunday, February 3, as well rather than disappoint what looks like a legion of fans."
"A small camera crew will be present on Thursday night, shooting material for a short film about Bernard, which slightly reduces our seating capacity anyway, so the extra show is doubly welcome, " says Roland.
"And why the interest? It's all of 19 years since Bernard Wrigley last visited the Black Swan, so this really is turning out to be something rather special.
"For anyone not familiar with Bernard, he's one of the best of that band of folk singer/entertainers who emerged in the late Sixties and early Seventies, combining songs and music with great humour (think of Mike Harding, Billy Connolly et al).
