VIETNAM veteran and folk and country music performer Stephen Reid ill sign copies of his new album, New Shoes, at Acomb Music, in Front Street, Acomb, on Saturday, February 8, from noon.
Stephen sees England as his ancestral home despite being raised by his Sussex-born mother and US army air corp father in Richmond, Indiana.
He always had a longing to return to what he saw as his roots in England and decided to settle in York in 1993 and he is now back in the city for good.
The melodic, poignant and memoryfilled New Shoes reflects on his Vietnam War experiences, his involvement in charitable events after the 9/11 attacks in New York and his lifetime of writing and performing.
Paul Cunniff, from Acomb Music, says: "It's exciting for a local business to be supporting local music and musicians.
York has a wealth of talent and I'm pleased to be helping through the monthly featured artist promotion and regular signing sessions."
New Shoes is on sale at Acomb Music for £5 and soon will be available for download via Stephens's MySpace site, www.myspace.com/stephenreidmusic
