YORK rock luminary Chris Helme will follow in the footsteps of Shed Seven by playing a Bridgejam charity gig at St Paul's, Holgate, York, on February 21 at 7.45pm.
Proceeds will go to The Press's Guardian Angels appeal, and tickets must be bought in advance for £5 from Bridgejam organiser Matt Woodcock on 01904 658820.
"Chris will perform several hits from his Seahorses days, as well as tracks from his current band, The Yards, and solo material, and he'll be joined on stage by The Yards' guitarist Chris Farrell and former Seahorses bass player Stu Fletcher, who's also in Rick Witter's new outfit The Dukes."
For each Bridgejam event, the church is transformed into an acoustic music café to raise funds for local good causes.
Shed Seven's Rick Witter, Paul Banks, Joe Johnson and Alan Leach played a sold-out show there on September 20 last year in aid of St Leonard's Hospice.
Meanwhile, Chris Helme tops tomorrow's bill at another charity night, Chord Japerdy A-Go-Go, in the Basement Bar of City Screen, York, at 8pm. Tickets: £3 on 0871 704 2054.
