Erland & The Carnival, the band formed by Orkney Island folk guitarist and singer Gawain Erland Cooper and former The Verve guitarist Simon Tong, play in York on Saturday night in support of their forthcoming single, You Don’t Have To Be Lonely.
Joined at Fibbers by drummer David Nock, the band combine a contemporary take on traditional British folk songs with original material influenced by Sixties’ garage rock.
The name Erland & The Carnival was inspired apparently by a Jackson C Frank Song, My Name Is Carnival. Tickets are on sale on 0844 847 2424 and on the door.
