BARLEY Hall will play host to an acoustic folk bill for the first time on June 5.
The historic hall, in Coffee Yard, off Stonegate, York, will be the setting for the third in the Acoustic Treasures series of warm-up concerts for the Beverley Folk Festival.
All five acts in the 7pm line-up will appear at the 2010 festival from June 18 to 20, led by headliner Sean Taylor, a rising London talent who has drawn comparison with John Martyn and Tom Waits. Joining Taylor at this intimate showcase will be a quartet of York’s home-grown stars: folk stalwart Dan Webster; soulful singer-songwriter Jess Gardham; velvet-voiced troubadour Jonny Dobbs; and Americana band Boss Caine, who have just released their new album, The Ship That Sailed, on Little Num Num Music.
Doors will open at 7pm and the first act will be on at 7.45pm. Tickets: £7 in advance from wegottickets.com or on 07708 923 540.
