YORK party band The Bogus Brothers look set for a summer inextricably linked with football, kicking off with their June 12 concert at Bubwith Leisure Centre, the day when England take on the USA in the 2010 World Cup.
“Tickets are flying out already and we’re looking forward to an energetic gig,” says manager Tony Williams. “It’s going to be a real double header as England’s football team kick off their first match in South Africa that day and what better way to celebrate it than with the Bogus Brothers.”
Later this summer, the Bogus boys will play at the wedding of Manchester United and Eire footballer John O’Shea. “It will be one of the biggest celebrity events in Ireland this year,” says Tony.
The football link could be strengthened further. “There’s a strong possibility they’ll be flown out to entertain the World Cup crowds in Johannesburg and Cape Town after the semi-final and final.”
Tickets for June 12 – the gig, not the match in Rustenburg – are available at £20 from Bubwith Under 5s, phone 01757 288245, or the Jug & Bottle and coffee shop in Bubwith.
