YORK musician and physiotherapist Jonny Trumble is organising a charity concert at City Screen, York, on July 17 to raise awareness of the Prostate Cancer Charity.
Jonny’s band Dirty Frank and guest musicians Mark Wynn and Lizzie Sykes will perform in The Basement that night as he takes his fund-raising beyond the five-figure mark.
“Along with my friend Gemma Plowright, I’ve been supporting this very worthy cause for the past year and we’ve now raised more than £10,000,” says Jonny, who works as a physiotherapist for York Hospitals Trust and the York City Knights rugby league club.
“Gemma’s father has just recovered from prostate cancer after surgery and radiotherapy and, even more recently, my father has had treatment for lymphatic cancer involving chemotherapy and radiotherapy to battle this terrible disease,” he adds.
• Tickets for this 7.30pm fund-raiser cost £10 on 0871 902 5726 or in person from the City Screen box office and all proceeds will go to the charity. For more information on Jonny and Gemma’s fund-raising, see justgiving.com/prostatetreknz09
