RECLUSIVE Seattle singer-songwriter Damien Jurado will play a House Concert in York on September 28, much to the delight of organiser Tony Fothergill.

“He has a huge cult following but rarely plays in the UK,” says Tony. “We’ve been after him for years – chipping away – and so this is a real breakthrough for us.”

The gig at Tony’s house will coincide with Jurado’s European tour to promote his latest album, Saint Bartlett, released on the Secretly Canadian label.

Tickets are likely to sell very quickly at £10. “To reserve your place, text your name to 07960 350909 promptly,” advises Tony, who is restricting bookings to four places per person.
