Mystery Jets present songs from their latest album, Serotonin, at Fibbers tonight.
Released only four days before the band’s York performance, Serotonin puts a psychedelic, Brit-pop twist on influences such as ELO, 10CC, and Fleetwood Mac.
From the synthesizer-fuelled anthem Dreaming Of Another World to the brooding Lorna Doone, the album is a diverse, textured collection, but lead singer Blaine Harrison suggests that “dreaming and escapism” pervades Serotonin as a whole: “We wanted to get a sense of distance on the album, the idea of looking at the world.”
Tickets are available at £13 from Fibbers, online at fibbers.co.uk, or by phone, 0844 847 2424.
