The Carrivick Sisters, 20-year-old twins Charlotte and Laura from Devon, will make their Black Swan Folk Club debut in York tonight.
Last winter they were finalists in the 2010 BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards and this year they will be appearing at no fewer than 24 music festivals across Britain with their combination of folk, bluegrass and old-time American songs.
“They really are impressive players over a range of stringed instruments, and great singers too, particularly when they harmonise,” said club organiser Roland Walls.
