YORK’S annual Early Music Festival is in full swing, with a packed programme of concerts continuing until Saturday.
A theme of marriages is running through the 30 or so events that make up this year’s festival, which was launched last Friday with a reception at the National Centre of Early Music in Walmgate.
This was followed by an opening concert at York Minister, where Monteverdi’s 1610 Vespers was performed by the Yorkshire Bach Choir, with monastic cantors from Ampleforth Abbey.
