Only One Question for… Florida country singer Elizabeth Cook.

Is it important for you to defy the Nashville expectations of being a blonde, pretty country singer?

“I would be bored to death if I was just a country girl.

“To be blonde and 115 pounds, they expect certain things from you, so I really have to write twice as good and I have to be twice as visceral.

“There’s a sort of automatic discredit I get because of being blonde. I used to wear the most bizarre clothes I could get from the thrift store and I’d wear horn-rim glasses, but now I like to feel sexy and if people think I’ve nothing to say to them, that’s their loss.”
