YORKSHIRE rockers the Pigeon Detectives will showcase tracks from their new album exclusively in York next week.
The band, whose hits include The Romantic Type and Take Her Back, will play two gigs at Montey’s Rock Café in Micklegate to celebrate finishing a national tour supporting Manchester indie band James.
Matt Bowman, lead singer and co-owner of the bar, pictured above, second from right, said the venue would offer a completely different experience to the band’s current tour.
He said: “The space between the stage and the audience at the Manchester Evening News Arena is probably about the same size as Montey’s, so it will be a completely different environment.
“This will be the first time we’ve played at the bar, and the first time we’ve played in York since before we had a record deal.”
The Pigeon Detectives and support acts will play at Montey’s on Monday and Tuesday, and Matt said the shows would be “a treat”.
• The Press has two pairs of tickets for each gig to give away.
