ROCK Choir, the singing phenonemon which has been sweeping the country, is coming to York, Knaresborough and Harrogate.
Organisers said the contemporary choir offers the general public a chance to sing rock, pop, gospel and Motown music, with no auditions and no previous singing experience required to join.
A choir spokeswoman said: “People from all walks of life and of all ages join Rock Choir, as well as shy individuals who up until now might only enjoy singing in private along to the car radio or in the shower.”
Stef Conner, who will lead the York choir, said: “It is amazing that most people who come along to try out Rock Choir for their free taster session don’t necessarily think they are very good singers at all.”
The York choir will rehearse at Shepherd Hall, St Olave’s School, Clifton, with the first taster session at 8pm on Thursday, January 13.
Harrogate Rock Choir will be rehearsing on Tuesday evenings at The St Robert’s Centre, Robert Street, while Knaresborough Rock Choir will be rehearsing on Monday evening at The Castle Room, Gracious Street Methodist Church.
