NEVER far from the headlines, Peter Doherty is the latest big name to sign on the dotted line for a York Barbican gig.
The Libertines and Babyshambles rock tearaway, known to all but his latest album sleeve as Pete, will play there on September 22 in a 7.30pm gig promoted by The Duchess, the Stonebow live music bar.
Tickets go on sale today at £18, available online from 9am on the Ticket Web and See Tickets websites and in person from The Duchess, where a “small amount” will be available from 10am. Telephone bookings can be made through the Barbican on 0844 854 2757. Please note, tickets are restricted to age 16 upwards.
Doherty last played in York in May 2010, when he performed a hastily arranged solo set at The Duchess, having cancelled a Bayshambles gig there the month before.
