York Late Music continues its First Saturday in the Month concert series at the Unitarian Chapel, St Saviourgate, York, with the Lunar Saxophone Quartet tomorrow night.
Their 7.30pm programme includes Philip Glass’s rescored String Quartet No 3 (Mishima); Keith Tippett’s Four Whispers For Archie’s Cat; Michael Nyman’s Songs For Tony; a new work by David Lancaster, plus music by Chick Corea, Gabriel Jackson and Richard Rodney Bennett. Peter Reynolds gives a pre-concert talk, in advance of the Lunar musicians performing his composition Head Of Brass.
Tickets cost £8, concessions £6, on the door. Please note, tomorrow’s lunchtime recital by York singer-songwriter David Ward Maclean at 1pm has been cancelled.
