BEACHED Festival is back for the first time since 2008. Ten years since it was first launched, the East Coast music event returns on August 13 as part of Scarborough Fair at Scarborough Open Air Theatre.

The Beached renaissance features headliners The Hoosiers, Merseyside band Amsterdam and The X Factor finalists Belle Amie, whose three-piece line-up includes local girl Sophia Wardman.

Beached organiser Mike Lynskey says: “I’m so pleased to be able to bring Beached back to Scarborough after taking two years out. The ‘reunion’ event has given me an opportunity to bring back some of our favourite Beached bands, with the Hoosiers being right at the top of our list. They were amazing back in 2007 and we’re all really looking forward to seeing what they have in store for us in 2011.”

Scarborough Fair will continue on August 14 with a day of world music and folk, bringing together co-organisers Musicport and Graeme Merifield of Wychwood Festival. Taking part will be Bellowhead, Demon Barber Roadshow, Alejandro Toledo and Magic Tombolinos, Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick, Shooglenifty, Jim Moray, Jaipur Kawa Brass, Mighty Zulu Nation, Duncan McFarlane, The Hut People, Robert Maseko Acoustic, Sura Susso, Whisky Dogs, Anna Shannon and Sail Pattern.
