AFTER surviving the “new Dylan” tag in style, New York singer-songwriter Willy Mason is back on the road, trailing songs from his next album.
At the tender age of 19, he shot on to the music scene with hit single Oxygen, and his ensuing debut album, Where The Humans Eat, showcased his piercing emotional insight and wisdom beyond his years.
Second album If The Ocean Gets Rough produced the singles Save Myself and We Can Be Strong, and Mason next lent his vocals to the Chemical Brothers’ Battle Scars, a stand-out track from their We Are The Night album.
Having recorded with Roseanne Cash and KT Tunstall, he is at present he is finishing his third album, made with his brother Sam in London.
Tickets for August 16 cost £13.50 on 01759 301547 or pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
