NORTH London quartet Bombay Bicycle Club will make their York Barbican debut next spring as part of an11-date April tour.

Jack Stedman’s prolific, restless band have released three albums in little more than three years and each one has truly been a different kind of fix, culminating in the release of this year’s set by that very title.

A spiky indie teenage debut, I Had The Blues But Shook Them Loose, was followed by a where-did-that-come-from? collection of stripped-down, timeless folk songs on last year’s Flaws, and the Bombay four changed again for A Different Kind Of Fix, switching the guitars back on. More significantly they added haunting electronica and harmonies, courtesy of new recruit Lucy Rose.

The album peaked at number six in the charts and summer festival appearances at Leeds and Reading were followed by a sold-out tour. The new single, Leave It, is released on January 1.

Tickets for their April 19 show next year are on sale at £17.50 on 0844 854 2757 or yorkbarbican.co.uk or from the Barbican box office, Monday to Friday, 10am to 2pm.
