LADY Lex will be appearing at the Irie Vibes night at The Crescent WMC, The Crescent, York, on Saturday.
The York reggae club usually relies on DJs, MCs and other sound systems, so this will be a rare show featuring a guest vocalist.
Irie Vibes was established three years ago by a group of York reggae enthusiasts, who came together to create a regular evening of all things musically Jamaican, either in style or influence.
From Ska to Dancehall and Dubstep, Irie Vibes has gone from its own members DJ-ing their own collections to attracting some of the best acts from around the country, duly becoming one of the north’s most respected reggae evenings.
This weekend, the spotlight falls on Lady Lex, second cousin to The Who’s late drummer, Keith Moon, incidentally. Appearing alongside her will be her husband and DJ, Farda P and Colonel C. Together they make up Aries Studio Sound and have the primetime Friday night slot on the internet radio station reggae4us.com
Doors open at 8pm and entry is £3 before 10pm and £5 afterwards.
