Filming of the reality show Geordie Shore has been suspended after two cast members were arrested following a late-night bar fight while an episode was being made, the producers said.
Vicky Pattison, 25, from Newcastle, and Holly Hagan, 20, from Thornaby, Teesside, were held for questioning after an 18-year-old was assaulted and taken to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday.
It happened in trendy Florita's Bar in Collingwood Street, Newcastle, where an episode for the seventh series of the MTV show was being filmed.
After the pair were arrested, the programme makers announced filming had been temporarily suspended and the two women will be removed from the show "for the time being".
A spokeswoman for the show said: "Following an incident during filming that has led to a police enquiry into an alleged offence by a member of the cast, MTV and Lime Pictures have temporarily suspended filming of Geordie Shore series 7 pending further enquiries.
"The decision has already been taken to remove certain cast members from the production process for the time being."
Northumbria Police has appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
A spokesman said: "An 18-year-old woman was taken to the RVI (Royal Victoria Infirmary) for treatment and has now been released.
"Two women aged 25 and 20 have been arrested on suspicion of assault and are helping police with enquiries.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
