Mark Wahlberg has told how the movie business straightened out the wayward behaviour encouraged by his early career in music.
The 42-year-old father-of-four had a successful pop career in the 1980s as the frontman of Marky Mark And The Funky Bunch - but he has admitted he lived a badboy lifestyle and found the pop industry encouraged that.
Speaking in London, where he was promoting his new film 2 Guns, he said: "There was no discipline with music and when I found movies I became very disciplined.
"There was no room for s****ing around. I think music always promoted this attitude of being able to do whatever I wanted. I showed up late, don't show up at all.
"But there's a lot riding on film and there's a lot of other people that make up a movie crew so there's a lot more responsibility.
"So when I found film I really found an added discipline and that helped me in my life."
The star revealed he has not ruled out reuniting with the Funky Bunch, but only if it was for a charity event. He added: "I don't miss it that much."
Mark recalled his first ever visit to London during his music years, and said: "I was here promoting a record. I was only used to eating food from my corner shop or my mother's cooking.
"So I get off the plane, get to the hotel, they don't have normal chicken, they had no weed - I'm like, 'I can't take this s***'.
"So I literally cancelled every interview I had and went home. Somebody from the record company got fired.
"Thankfully they hired somebody else the next time I came back that liked me and had some weed for me. I don't do that any more."
2 Guns, co-starring Denzel Washington, is about a Navy Seal and a drug enforcement agent who end up working together to clear each other's name. It opens in cinemas on August 16.
