George Clooney has reportedly charmed his mother-in-law to be by flying her out to his Italian villa for a luxurious break.

The Hollywood heartthrob is set to wed London-based human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin and wanted to spend some time with her mum Baria, so he invited her to Italy to stay at his pad on picturesque Lake Como.

A source told People: "They were outside, and Amal and her mom were smiling. It was going pretty great.

"Amal's mom left the next day, and at the airport they just looked so happy."

George, 53, and Amal, 36, apparently spent some of their stay in Italy scouting out potential wedding venues.

According to E! News, the smitten pair were seen looking at different possible locations before going to dinner at the Grand Hotel Villa D'este restaurant in Cernobbio Village.

The venue is rumoured to be on George's pal Brad Pitt's list of possible places to tie the knot with Angelina Jolie.

George and Amal got engaged in April and haven't revealed their plans for their big day.

However, the New York Post's Page Six previously reported that they were hoping to walk down the aisle this year, rather than have a long engagement.

"It's only four months away but they want to get married at the end of the summer, in early September, before Amal returns to work," an insider said.
