DIRECTOR Robert Readman has postponed the opening of York Stage Musicals' Miss Saigon School Edition at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York, until tomorrow.
The first performance of the York premiere of the Boublil and Schonberg musical will now be the 2.30pm Saturday matinee.
Explaining this late change, Robert says: "Due to cast members being away this week at drama school auditions, and Wednesday's rail problems getting them back from London to run the show, and then principal actor Jed Berry being very ill yesterday (THURSDAY), I've decided to postpone the opening from tonight until tomorrow.
"Apologies for the inconvenience that this will cause. I felt we needed to run a dress tech rehersal last night tonight and a full dress rehearsal tonight. We have an amazing show on our hands and I feel everyone will benefit from a second dress rehearsal with the orchestra too. The audience who had booked for tonight can obviously have replacement tickets for any other performance."
Miss Saigon School Edition will be staged by York Musicals from tomorrow until March 2; performances start at 7.30pm plus 2.30pm tomorrow and next Saturday. Box office: 01904 623568 or yorktheatreroyal.co.uk
