YOU are invited to wear fancy dress for the chance to take part in a fashion show on stage with the People’s Theatre Company actors at Thursday’s family show at Pocklington Arts Centre.

Written for parents to enjoy with their children, The Elephant Bridesmaid is a magical musical about weddings and wombats and the loveliest elephant the world has ever known.

Based on a story from Steven Lee’s book How The Koala Learnt To Hug and Other Australian Fairytales, the Nottingham company’s show incorporates games, songs and heart-warming elephant antics.

The show invites the audience to help Nessie the Elephant and her animal friends as they go in search of an outfit fancy enough – and large enough – to make her the Australian jungle’s first and most beautiful Elephant Bridesmaid.

After the 2.30pm performance, author Steven Lee will be signing copies of his book, which will be on sale at a reduced price.

The show is suitable for ages four to 104. Tickets cost £5 on 01759 301547 or at pocklingtonartscentre.co.uk
