YORK School of Dance and Drama presents Lesley Ann Eden’s new show, In The Hall Of Fame, at the Grand Opera House, York, on Sunday at 6pm.
“It’s my latest choreo-drama [a composite noun coined by Lesley Ann] and incorporates children, adults and teachers from all over York,” says the choreographer, writer and director. “It promises to be a spectacular show with famous pieces of favourite music, classical, rock and contemporary.”
Sunday’s performance features many different styles and genres of dance for all ages and ranges of ability. “Young actors play great character roles, the two main ones being two old ladies who own a dusty old museum,” says Lesley Ann.
“Inside is an ancient painting containing a magic sea chest that harbours treasure beyond imagination, and when the magic words are spoken, the treasure chest manifests out of the painting.
“Unfortunately, the legend is known to two fraudsters who pose as museum inspectors in order to close down the museum and steal the treasure. However, as in all good family shows, all’s well that ends well, of course.”
