FROM the producers of Vampires Rock comes The Meat Loaf Story, starring Steve Steinman, at the Grand Opera House, York, tonight at 7.30pm.

Steinman first came to national attention when performing as Meat Loaf on Stars In Their Eyes 18 years ago but has since had rather more than Andy Warhol’s allotted 15 minutes of fame, both leading the cast in Vampires Rock and delivering the choicest cuts from Meat Loaf’s pop-opera career.

The Meat Loaf Story combines video projections and an “incredible set” with Steinman’s stage presence, potent voice and humour as he sings Paradise By The Dashboard Light, You Took the Words Right Out Of My Mouth, Dead Ringer For Love and Bat Out Of Hell. And, yes, he will do I’ll Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That).

Discarding the pretence of wigs and make-up for his new show, Steinman will let his voice and performance do the hollering tonight. Box office: 0844 871 3024 or at atgtickets.com/york
