TICKETS have gone on sale for this coming winter's pantomime at the Grand Opera House in York.
Staff members Caroline Usher Cox, Jordan Fisher and Malcolm Poole dressed up as Cinderella and the Ugly Sisters respectively to launch the December 12 to January 4 run of Cinderella. Regular director Simon Barry, of New Pantomime Productions, will announce his cast later this year.
In the meantime, the date has been set for children's dance auditions for the show. These will be held on Tuesday, September 23 at the Cumberland Street theatre at 4.30pm for boys and girls aged seven and over to play Babes, no taller than 5ft 2ins, and 7.30pm for senior roles for boys and girls, taller than 5ft 2ins. Everybody should wear clothes and soft shoes suitable for auditions.
All candidates will be auditioned in groups and taught a short dance routine. Those auditioning should ensure that, if successful, they would be available to attend every rehearsal from the end of November, mainly after school and at weekends.
Tickets for Cinderella cost £10 to £22.50 on 0844 871 3024 or 01904 678705 for groups and online at atgtickets.com/york
