THE York Scout & Guide Gang Show returns to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York, from Tuesday to Saturday.
Rehearsals are progressing well for a traditional Gang Show based on the format established by Ralph Reader in the 1930s. A selection of songs, dances and sketches will be performed by a cast of more than 60, comprising Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network and leaders from York as well as Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Senior Section and leaders from the Girl Guiding county of North Yorkshire South, which covers York and Selby.
The age range is from eight to over 70 for a show called Sailing On, for which the cast took a break from rehearsals to visit Yorkboat for a photoshoot to put them in the nautical mood.
Performances start at 7.15pm nightly, plus a Saturday matinee at 2pm. Tickets are available on 01904 632750 or online at yorkgangshow.org.uk
